Wow, cryptic message in the guestbook.

I wrote the last line of my novel today, but it is not a good last line, so I have a lot more work to do, both on the last line and on the first 150 pages or so. Things happened later in the book that made me realize it needed a different start. I have until the first week of November to finish my draft, so here I go...

I loved Lost in Translation; one thing I really appreciated was that Bob and Charlotte did not end up in bed together -- not euphemistically, anyway.

Most recently enjoyed:

* "The Elephant Vanishes" by Haruki Murakami. I learned so much about voice and point of view from this story.

* American Splendor

* The new season of Degrassi. Shane is back, as are Liz and Caitlin.

* Reading interviews with Sofia Coppola

* John's drawing of a sad tree.
